Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 is a suite of cloud services and office software from Microsoft.
All services are available via web interface. Desktop applications (Outlook, Word, Excel,…) and mobile applications can also work with Microsoft 365.
Web Applications
Web apps are continuously updated and new ones are added in Microsoft 365. Not all of the functionality may be available in a particular licensing plan.
Overview of web applications available in mid-2024:
- Outlook (mail), Calendar, Contacts, Tasks – e-mail and related applications, which are also available via desktop Outlook.
- OneDrive – File storage for users with the ability to share.
- SharePoint – create applications for sharing and managing information in organizations. It is the basis for many other applications.
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote – online version of office applications that allow you to view and edit relevant files.
- Teams – digital center for communication and collaboration within teams.
- To-Do – personal tasks management (simplified alternative to Outlook tasks).
- Planner – management of tasks for groups and teams.
- Bookings – signing up for appointments, only employees with an A3 or A5 licence can create appointments.
- Forms – quizzes and questionnaires with automatic evaluation.
- Power BI – analytical and presentation tools for large data processing.
- Sway – storytelling/presentation tools (alternative to PowerPoint)
- Stream – application for making company videos available.
- Project Online – managing large projects.
- Visio – creating diagrams
- WhiteBoard – visual collaboration in online meetings.
- Loop – offers a flexible canvas and intelligent components that allow the team to think, plan and create together.
- Dynamics 365 – a comprehensive solution for building and managing customer relationships (CRM).
- Power Apps, Power Automate – creating your own business applications.
- Yammer – corporate social network.
Applications for Windows/Mac OS
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote – creating and editing documents. Documents can be edited by multiple people at the same time if they are stored on OneDriver/SharePoint. Users with an A3 or A5 license have 5 Office licenses for Windows and MacOs.
- Outlook – mail client including calendar, tasks and address book
- OneDrive – sync files between your computer and private and shared storage in Microsoft 365
- Teams – communication between users
Mobile applications
Microsoft also creates applications for mobile phones and tablets (Android and iOS), but they have limited functionality against desktop applications.
Install and configure Microsoft Outlook or another suitable mail client on your mobile/tablet.
