I do not have a mobile phone or I do not have a smart phone

If you do not have a mobile phone, you can log in using, for example, a FIDO2 security key:

Logging in with the FIDO2 key

Note: FIDO2 key authentication does not currently work on the classroom station or on the school virtual desktop. For now, another verification method must be used. We are working on the issue.

  1. On PC, go to page https://mysignis.microsoft.com/security-info and sign in to your school account.

  2. From the menu on the left side of the screen, tap Security Info, then tap the + Add sign-in method button. Choose the Security key method and choose its type (USB Device will be the most common).

  3. Prepare the key to insert into the PC and click Next.

  4. Go through the security key setup wizard. If necessary, enter the PIN code of your FIDO key (if you have not set one yet, you will be prompted to set it – then remember the PIN). If your browser prompts you to allow access to the FIDO key, grant permission.

  5. Enter a name for the FIDO key and complete its setup.

Logging in with FIDO2 keys is also possible on modern mobile phones or tablets.

Logging in with SMS

If you do not have a smartphone but you have a phone with buttons, you can sign in with a SMS verification.

  1. Go to page https://mysignis.microsoft.com/security-info and sign in to your school account if needed. Warning: for this method, it is not possible to use a phone number that is used for authentication by another user within the organization.

  2. From the menu on the left side of the screen, tap Security Info, then tap the + Add sign-in method button. Choose the Phone method.

  3. Enter the area code and phone number to which you want to receive SMS codes for verification.

  4. To verify the phone, a 6-digit code will be sent to it, which you write down in the dialog. After this step, the setup will be completed.

Logging in with password managers (e.g., KeePassXC)

Various password management tools have built-in options for generating one-time codes. These applications can be used on desktops as well as mobile devices.
