Multi-Factor Authentication

Besides login and password both InSIS and Microsoft 365 require two-factor verification (also multi-factor authentication – MFA). There are several options on which second factor to choose from. The chosen second factor method can be the same for both InSIS and Microsoft 365.

  • We strongly recommend setting up more than one MFA verification method for Microsoft 365 (ideally via Microsoft Authenticator app and SMS). If you are already using some different app for MFA other than Microsoft Authenticator for your other accounts externally, you can keep using that app for InSIS and Microsoft 365.

MFA configured within Microsoft 365 can also be used to log into InSIS (by clicking the “Microsoft 365 Account (VŠE)” button on the InSIS login page). Although, the login to Microsoft 365 do not work vice versa through InSIS login details and MFA method set.

The verification app in general generates six-digit codes after it´s paired with your account. Instructions on how to activate MFA and the pairing process (with the list of recommended apps) can be found here: https://ci.vse.cz/english/services/insis/multi-factor-authentication/

If you face some difficulties with the MFA, please see our troubleshooting Q&A: https://ci.vse.cz/english/services/insis/multi-factor-authentication-qa-and-troubleshooting/
