MFA setup in Office 365 with a FIDO2 key

  1. On PC, go to page https://mysignis.microsoft.com/security-info and sign in to your school account.

  2. From the menu on the left side of the screen, tap Security Info, then tap the + Add sign-in method button. Choose the Security key method and choose its type (USB Device will be the most common).

  3. Prepare the key to insert into the PC and click Next.

  4. Go through the security key setup wizard. If necessary, enter the PIN code of your FIDO key (if you have not set one yet, you will be prompted to set it – then remember the PIN). If your browser prompts you to allow access to the FIDO key, grant permission.

  5. Enter a name for the FIDO key and complete its setup.

The most common issues and their solutions

I am unable to use the FIDO2 key to authenticate on the station in the classroom or on the school virtual desktop

FIDO2 keys work correctly in Horizon View client in classrooms now. When it comes to lecturers’ terminals (Dell Wyse), it’s essential to insert your FIDO2 key before you log into a virtual desktop. If you insert your key afterwards, please log out and then log back in.

Setting up/logging in with FIDO2 key does not work in Firefox on the employee computer

Try using the Microsoft Edge browser (can be installed via the Network Installation icon), or ask the Help Desk to reinstall to a new image.
